Ubiquiti and Mikrotik will add their own custom antenna design, TDMA support on some devices (all in the case of Mikrotik), all sorts of bridging. They'll do additional active management of connected clients to provides things like roaming assistance etc. They'll support multiple SSIDs bridged to VLANs out of the box.Too bad you can't find them anymore it seems. Ubiquiti is trying to walk a fine line between business class hardware and affordability. It's a tough path. But they are setting the standard of affordable prosumer home networking as a product category, with a lot of growing pains.Unifi goes down to 4 in Mesh setups. No Mandatory DHCP setting at the AP level. This is different than DHCP snooping. Meraki provides a full admin change log and this would be nice to see in Unifi. I couldn't seem to get the traffic rules to work well for multi Vlan segregation and communication. When I researched it, firewall rules were what is needed in my intended use case.
